Pregnancy + Birth Support

Pregnancy + Birth Support

Care for You, Too

Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum ask a lot of your body.

This is a time when you deserve to be cared for, supported, and nurtured, too.

At Mountain Remedy, pregnancy and birth support can include prenatal acupuncture, prenatal herbal medicine, doula care, placenta encapsulation, and Motherwarming postpartum care.

You can choose the support that feels right for you, or we can combine services to care for you throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Prenatal Acupuncture

Acupuncture can support you throughout pregnancy—from those exhausting and sometimes nauseating early weeks through preparing your body for labor and birth.

Prenatal acupuncture can help with:

Nausea + morning sickness • FatigueThis  • Headaches • Back, hip + pelvic pain • Sciatica • Heartburn + digestive changes • Stress + anxiety • Sleep • Swelling • Breech presentation • Birth preparation

As you get closer to your due date, treatment can shift toward preparing your body for labor, encouraging optimal positioning, supporting cervical ripening, and helping your body move toward birth.

Prenatal Herbal Medicine

Pregnancy doesn't mean herbal medicine is off the table. It means herbs need to be chosen thoughtfully and appropriately for pregnancy.

Prenatal herbal consultations are virtual and individualized. Your health history, symptoms, medications, supplements, and stage of pregnancy are all taken into consideration before creating a formula.

Herbal medicine may be used to support concerns such as nausea, digestion, sleep, energy, emotional wellbeing, and preparation for birth and postpartum.

Doula Care

Birth is deeply personal. My role as your doula is not to tell you how to give birth—it's to help you feel supported, informed, heard, and cared for while you do it.

Doula support may include prenatal preparation, education, comfort measures, advocacy and communication support, hands-on care during labor, and a steady presence throughout your birth.

We'll spend time together before labor so I understand you, your preferences, your concerns, and what helps you feel safe and supported.

Then when it's time to have your baby, you have someone there who already knows you.

Placenta Encapsulation

Placenta services offer a way to incorporate your placenta into your postpartum care.

Your placenta is carefully prepared and encapsulated for you following established sanitation and handling procedures.

We'll go over the process, timing, pickup or drop-off, and what to expect before your birth so there's one less thing to figure out once your baby arrives.

Motherwarming

Postpartum is not simply the end of pregnancy. It's its own season of healing.

Motherwarming is a traditional Chinese medicine postpartum practice using gentle moxibustion and warmth to nourish and restore the body after birth.

It's quiet, warming, restorative care during a time when so much of your energy is going toward your new baby.

This time, the care is for you.

How to Get Started

All pregnancy and birth services begin with a Free 15-Minute Virtual Introduction.

Before you book prenatal acupuncture, herbal care, doula services, placenta encapsulation, or Motherwarming, I'd like us to meet first.

We'll talk about where you are in your pregnancy, what kind of support you're looking for, and any questions you have. It's also a chance for both of us to make sure we feel like a good match before moving forward.

There is no treatment during this visit and no pressure to book afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHEN SHOULD I START PRENATAL ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture can be used throughout pregnancy. When you begin depends on what you're looking for help with. Some patients start during the first trimester for nausea, fatigue, or other symptoms, while others begin later for pain, general pregnancy support, or preparation for birth.

WHEN SHOULD I REACH OUT ABOUT DOULA CARE?

As early as you'd like. Meeting earlier gives us more time to get to know each other and prepare together, but availability ultimately depends on your estimated due date.

CAN I USE HERBAL MEDICINE WHILE I'M PREGNANT?

Yes. Chinese herbal medicine has a long history of use during pregnancy. Herbs are selected specifically for you, your symptoms, and your stage of pregnancy.

DO I HAVE TO USE ALL OF THESE SERVICES?

Not at all. You can work with me for one service or combine them depending on what you need.

DO I NEED TO BE AN EXISTING PATIENT?

No. You can begin pregnancy or birth care with Mountain Remedy even if you've never worked with me before.

Your first step is simply a Free 15-Minute Virtual Introduction so we can meet and make sure we're a good fit.
